Levels from Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 and 4 may be DLC for HD remake
Tony Hawk and Robomodo are hoping to use DLC to bring more vintage levels to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD.
"The dream of doing this is we can throw levels from 3 and 4 and make them downloadable in this," Hawk told Joystiq during an interview at GDC 2012.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD isn't a revamp of the first game of that name, but rather a collection of levels from the first two releases in the series running on a new engine for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Hawk seems enthusiastic about the unusual remake's potential for further expansions.
"We can use this as a foundation and platform for that. I really want this to be a foundation we build on so we can do more levels, more skaters, more content that you can download because this is kind of revolutionary to do a franchise game as only downloadable," he said.
The skater said the team decided to start "relatively small " with the best sections of the first two Pro Skater games, and build from there.
An Activision representative confirmed there are no barriers to the scheme, but the publisher wants to see how well the game sells before committing.
