Leaked code suggests that a Half Life VR title might be in the works
No, it's not Half Life 3.
Valve News Network has reported that there is a glimmer of a chance that Half Life: VR might be a thing.
Taking us back to the beginning of all this, VNN reminds viewers that assets from Half Life were previously used to experiment in VR and the notion of a Half Life VR game was never completely written off.
Since then, the Steam VR app Destinations was released and after digging around in the files, a project titled HL:VR was discovered with code referencing what looked like leftovers from the experimentation with Half Life assets in VR.
So what's all the excitement about?
Destinations is frequently updated and in a September 26 update, "leaked" string was found involving Half Life: VR with references to all sorts of weapons and doodads, and they replaced the original strings, indicating further development had since taken place.
