League of Legends announces $100,000 prize purse for official Season 1 Championship

Riot Games has announced that there will be a $100,000 prize purse for the first official League of Legends tournament championship
The Season 1 tournament will conclude with the championship, which will be held as part of the massive Dreamhack PC LAN event in Jönköping, Sweden from June 18-21.
In the end, the top eight teams for the multiplayer action-RTS game will compete in the championship for the chance at a share of that $100,000 prize pool. The press release did not say how much the top team will take home.
Riot Games plans to stream live coverage of the championship from Dreamhack. You can check out the trailer below for more info about the tournament.
