La-Mulana 2 Kickstarter launched, prototype screens & details inside

La-Mulana 2 developper Nigoro and Playism Games have launched a Kickstarter for the sequel, along with new prototype screens, details and much more.

It follows the La-Mulana 2 announcement, which slapped a 2014 release on the PC game.

Now, the La-Mulana 2 Kickstarter has launched, and Nigoro is looking for $200,000 with 32 days left on the clock. So far it's made $29,995 with 733 backers.

Nigoro has called La-Mulana 2 a direct 2D sequel to the original, and said of the first game, "While the game received a metascore of 87, we felt it was a shame the remake did not offer anything new to seasoned players of the original game. We heard comments from gamers saying 'I wish I could develop amnesia and enjoy it for the first time all over again!' more than once. That’s why we decided it was time to revisit La-Mulana and create a new game."

La-Mulana 2 stars Lumiusa Kosugi as she tries to find the entrance to the ruins of Eg-Lana. It is said that the ruins are the source of recent monster appearances, and house large bosses called 'Guardians.'

The game is in development primarily for PC, and Nigoro reckons newcomers will take 20-30 hours to complete the quest. There's also a new cast of characters including Mulbruck, who is 3024 years old, despite looking about 24. Interesting.
