L.A. Noire's Social Club features detailed

Rockstar's Social Club, another surprisingly successful attempt to mesh community features with gaming, is naturally coming to L.A. Noire. Here's precisely how.

Like Red Dead Redemption, the first feature you'll unlock is a new outfit. According to the Rockstar Blog, Cole will gain the Chicago Lightning suit, which improves accuracy with shotguns and machine guns. To grab this natty set, you'll need only to link your game with your social club account.

Having hooked yourself up, you'll be able to tune in on the collective mind by seeking assistance with tricky issues. Earning "intuition points" - it's not clear how - will allow you to purchase assistance in difficult moments.

This assistance comes in the form of an "ask the audience" lifeline. You'll see what percentage of the social club community chose each possible response.

Online, you'll be able to keep an eye on your completion via a 100 percent checklist, view community game stats, ponder the cases in your notebook, and check out your own and friends' achievements.

No word on whether we'll see regular challenges as in Red Dead Redemption, but the very different nature of the game suggests it's quite unlikely.

Thanks, Joystiq.
