L.A. Noire fiction collection and soundtrack detailed
The L.A. Noire marketing blitz continues unabated, with a piece of short fiction and more details of the game's upcoming soundtrack and Verve Remixed Project releases.
Rockstar has launched an official soundtrack page for L.A. Noire, outlining the making of the musical score as well as listing the original and licensed tracks heard in-game.
On the same page, you can check out the L.A. Noire Verve Remixed Project EP, which sees mix masters such as Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio), DJ Premier (Gang Starr) and Truth and Soul (El Michels Affair) giving a new spin on classics by Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Lionel Hampton.
Both the OST and Verve Remixed Project EP will release alongside the game, through digital distributors.
In the meantime, to feed your hankering for old timey policing, Rockstar has commissioned a series of short fiction pieces inspired by L.A. Noire. The first to be released, entitled See The Woman, comes from award-winning suspense writer Lawrence Block and is available to read online at Mulholland Books.
The story will also see the light of day in PDF and e-Reader formats, and will be joined by further releases over the rest of the week. The full collection, L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories, will release as an e-Book, and is available for pre-order through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iTunes, for release on June 6.
L.A. Noire will release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 17 in the US and May 20 in Europe.
