KOTOR MMO is "overwhelming," says Lucas boss, but the opportunity is "huge"
LucasArts online boss Tom Nichols has told VG247 that the prospect of bringing Star Wars: The Old Republic to market is "overwhelming" at times, but that the triumvirate of EA, LucasArts and BioWare is big enough to successfully release such a high profile MMO.
"Daunted? I don't know if I'd use that word," said Nichols when asked if the task he faced was a nerve-wracking one.
"I'm bullish, I'm optimistic. I think it's a huge opportunity for us, and for BioWare and EA.
"It is, in a sense, overwhelming sometimes when you think about it, when you think about the amount of work that we have to do, and the amount of content that we're building, all the things you have to have in place to successfully launch a large-scale MMO: that's a lot of work, absolutely.
"But we're all looking forward to the challenge."
The game's under development at BioWare's Austin studio, being worked on by a team of unspecified size.
Both Lucas and EA have already said they're aiming for the top with the title, and believe it has the potential to overtake World of Warcraft in terms of subs.
There's no date on it as yet.
