Korean conflict won't have an impact on Homefront, says THQ

THQ has told Kotaku that yesterday's scuffle between North and South Korea won't have an impact on the release of Homefront.

The battle between North and South Korean troops on the island of Yeonpyeong, the biggest of its kind since the Korean War, saw four people killed - two civilians and two South Korean marines - when artillery shells from the North struck the island.

But THQ says that despite yesterday's attack, the Kaos shooter remains an work of fiction.

"Homefront is a work of speculative fiction, set in the year 2027," a rep said.

"Recent real-world events on the Korean peninsula are obviously tragic and, like everyone, we hope for a swift and peaceful resolution."

The game sees a strengthened North Korea, led by Kim Jong-un, unify with the South and invade a weakened US.

Homefront releases on March 5 in the US and March 8 in the UK for PS3, 360 and PC.
