Konami's posted revenues of 190.1 billion yen (£1.3 billion) for the nine months ending December 31, down 18.8 percent from 234 billion yen (£1.63 billion) in the same period the previous year.

"Due to the absence of major titles, such as last year’s Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots, however, the overall sales fell this quarter as compared to the same period the previous year," said the firm.

Konami reported record figures in the previous fiscal year, with sales up 4.2 percent to $3.24 billion thanks to Kojima's latest.
