Kojima Productions LA officially shuttered
Konami has confirmed the closure of the Los Angeles branch of Kojima Productions.
Even as whispers of a new Metal Gear game surface, yesterday's rumoured closure of KojiPro LA has been made official.
In a statement delivered to Polygon, Konami said the closure is "due to the product development resources being restructured into a more centralized unit".
Renamed as Konami Los Angeles earlier this year in the great Metal Gear rebranding, Kojima Productions Los Angeles was founded in 2013 and contributed to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Online. The closure is not expected to delay Metal Gear Online's January 2016 PC launch, Konami said.
Our best wishes to all affected staff.
