Kojima calls the Decima engine a "rocket" that he reformed with Guerrilla Games
If game development is like the Space Race, Kojima has his eye set on Jupiter.
Hideo Kojima revealed Death Stranding's engine earlier this month during a PlayStation Experience panel.
In a series of tweets, Kojima describes the process of how he came to settle on Guerrilla’s Decima Engine using the Space Race as a metaphor.
"The space development competition has been stagnated after the Cold War. Due to the steep rise in price of space development cost, the investment for the earth has been strengthened and they gave up on the space shuttle program.
"Meanwhile I who wants to proceed myself to the moon, met the guerrilla whose plan was to go to the mars. We decided to make the rocket by reforming their engine. And by doing so it enables us to go to the mars but even to the jupiter."
He also posted some images of Kojima Production's meeting room reproduced by the Decima engine and they look insane. Like "has he just actually wheeled a tank into his meeting room and taken a photo?" insane.
Let us know what you think about his choice of engine based on what we've seen so far below.
