Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy 15's E3 trailer presents the scope of war
So far, Kingsglaive looks to be an intriguing companion film to the upcoming Final Fantasy XV video game. And with US theatrical screenings underway this summer, it's natural that Sony would unveil a new trailer exploring its plot, characters, and threats facing this new fantasy universe.
Kingsglaive takes place parallel to the events of Final Fantasy 15, revealing what happens to the magical kingdom of Lucis once Noctis left with an adventuring party. The Nifhelm empire, which has warred with Lucis for generations, now arrives with a treaty that will cede some territory in exchange for peace. King Regis (played by Sean Bean) intends to accept the treaty, but immigrant glaive Nyx Ulric (Aaron Paul) doesn't trusth Nifhelm's intentions. Going by the trailer, these characters decisions spiral into a renewed conflict between the nations, complete with giant monsters as war machines.
Kinsglaive arrives in select US theaters on August 19, 2016. Final Fantasy XV launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 30, 2016.
