Kingdom Under Fire 2 is heading west for PC later this year

Kingdom Under Fire 2 will finally grace the west.

Kingdom Under Fire 2 will actually see a release later this year in the west.

After spending almost 11 years in limbo, the MMO action-RTS hybrid will finally be released on PC.

The sequel to Blueside's original Xbox strategy was announced for PC and Xbox 360 in 2008. A couple years later, it was announced the game would also head to PlayStation 3 and it would be released during the second half of 2010. It never happened.

The original was well-liked among the Xbox crowd, so folks were really looking forward to the sequel. But since its initial announcement the western release saw many a delay, and the Xbox 360 version was dropped for PC and PlayStation 4. Hope was restored when the game resurfaced at TGS 2104, but it once again fell off the radar as only limited-run betas in Korea and Russia were available.

Hopefully, that won't happen again with Gameforge (AION, TERA) handling the western publishing rights (thanks, Blue).

Here's a refresher on the game in case your memory isn't as good as it was back in 2008:

Kingdom Under Fire 2 is set in a world where three powerful factions — the Human Alliance, Dark Legion, and Encablossians — compete for control over the land of Bersia. Players can choose from several hero classes and focus on building up their individual characters, or command massive armies as war strategists. Kingdom Under Fire 2 takes place 50 years after the events of Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders and features an immersive multiplayer story campaign that can be experienced online multiplayer.

Gameforge will launch Kingdom Under Fire 2 later this year in North America and throughout Europe for PC on multiple, digital platforms.
