Kickstarter to extend to Australia, New Zealand
Kickstarter has added a subdomain labelled Australia, promising that the crowdfunding platform will be opened to Australia and New Zealand "in the very near future". The platform is hosting two events in early September to educate potential creators (or just interested backers), and is offering email updates to those keen to get in on the action. Kickstarter began as a US-only scheme but soon extended to the UK and as of next month, Canada. In the past, Australian creators had to have access to a bank account in one of these territories to use the service.
Thanks, Kotaku.
