Kholat is Russian survival horror game inspired by true events, first trailer here

Kholat is a new survival horror title from Imgn.Pro and Wohoo Games, based on the disappearance of nine Russian hikers in 1959, as they were travelling through the snow-swept Ural Mountains. The game is currently on Steam Greenlight and the first trailer has dropped.

Voting is now open on the Kholat Steam Greenlight hub, and in an email sent to VG247 today, Imgn.Pro explained that the game was inspired by the notorious Dyatlov Pass incident of 1959. Nine hikers really did go missing that February but of course, Kholat is a horror-filled twist on the subject matter, offering a dark take on what went down that day.

Developed in Unity, Kholat places you as a member of the Dyatlov Pass investigation team who finds the mutilated bodies of said hikers, and it's up to you unravel what exactly happened. The game will also employ a bespoke system called 'Fear Manager,' which hopes to make the game both fearful and uncertain with each play-through.
