Journey, The Walking Dead and Far Cry 3 lead DICE Awards nominations

Nominees for the 2013 DICE awards have been announced. Journey leads the way with 11 nominations, including a run for the Game of the Year title.

Telltale's episodic The Walking Dead lags slightly behind with an impressive eight nominations. Far Cry 3 notched up seven, Halo 4 gained six, while Borderlands 2 and Dishonored earn a respectable five nods each.

Journey, The Walking Dead, Far Cry 3, Borderlands 2 and XCOM: Enemy Unknown make up the GOTY nomination list.

"As I look at the list of the 2012 finalist games, there is no doubt in my mind that every single nominated title strongly reflects the D.I.C.E. Awards moniker - Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain," said Martin Rae, president of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.

"Across all platforms and through deeply immersive experiences, our industry continues to outdo itself year over year, finding new and interesting ways to evolve and engage audiences."

The awards will be given out on February 7 as part of 2013 DICE Summit in Las Vegas.
