Japanese hardware charts, January 17 - 23: PSP takes top spot from PS3

psp3

Media Create has released the latest hardware sales figures for Japan, and it finds PSP back in first place again, which can be attributed to the debut of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix.

DS sales across the board seem to be slowing down, no doubt in anticipation of 3D's February 26 release in the country. DSi LL, the front runner of the handheld family, was down 5,732 units over the week prior.

While PS3 was the definite chart winner last week, it took second place moving a respectable 23,792 units, but was still down 9,398 units from last week's chart-topping 33,190 units. Other members of the Sony family, PSP go and PS2, were down 1,010 units and up 207 units over last week, respectively.

Xbox 360 was down 298 over last week, while Wii was down 6,744.
