Iwata: "Pikmin is perfect for 3D"

Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has dropped what may be a hint that we're going to see a Pikmin 3D down the line in the latest Iwata Asks.

The feature was mainly based on 3DS, with Nintendo's Shigeasto Itoi and Shigeru Miyamoto also involved.

During the course of the feature, Pikmin is mentioned, where the following conversation is dropped:

"Itoi: Well…you know…this is really… Oh, that’s Pikmin! Great!"
"Miyamoto: Doesn’t Pikmin look great?
"Iwata: It seems like Pikmin is perfect for 3D.
"Miyamoto: I like the way they scurry around.
"Itoi: Pikmin is a game with a peculiar 3D effect as if you’re getting down on hands and knees to look at something small. Man, I want one of these! I’ll buy one, Prez! How much is it going to cost me, Prez?"

Nothing on the Pikmin series has been announced for 3DS as yet.

The only new game coming being the still unseen Pikmin 3, which Miyamoto confirmed was still in development for Wii at E3 last June.
