It's nearly 7 years old, but Super Meat Boy is coming to Switch
Super Meat Boy, like a ridiculous number of things, is on its way to Switch.
The Switch version of Super Meat Boy was cheekily announced with a teaser on Twitter.
In replies to questions on Twitter, developer Team Meat said the port comes courtesy of BlitWorks, the Spanish crew responsible for a number of well-received ports including Olli Olli, Don't Starve, Bastion, Fez, Axiom Verge, Spelunky and even other versions of Super Meat Boy.
Team Meat also confirmed this is a port of the original Super Meat Boy, and not anything to do with Super Meat Boy Forever, the new project the indie pair have been working on for almost three years. (To be fair, Edmund McMillen has been busy with The Binding of Isaac and numerous other projects in the interim, and Team Meat spent some time working on other ideas like Mew-Genics, too.)
Super Meat Boy was first released on Xbox 360 in October 2010, one of a handful of shining gems from the glory years of Xbox Live Arcade's indie push. It arrived on PC shortly thereafter, and eventually made its way to Linux and Mac in 2011, PS4 and Vita in 2015, and Android and Wii U in 2016.
Famously challenging, Super Meat Boy won a tidy pile of awards and was featured prominently in Indie Game: The Movie alongside Fez and Braid.
