After weeks of alone time in Call of Duty: WWII's social hub (Called "Headquarters"), players are starting to report that their Headquarters are filled with other players. If we continue to see more functioning HQs, it will finally fulfill one of Sledghammer Games' main feature promises.

On Twitter and Reddit, players are posting images of full HQs populated with other players. Reddit users have been posting about functioning HQ hubs along with the player's region to help clarify where exactly the HQs seem to be going live.

Headquarters was a new feature announced before the release of Call of Duty: WWII. The HQ was meant to serve as a social hub similar to The Tower in Destiny 2 where players could mingle, shop, play around in shooting ranges and test courses, and controversially, open loot boxes in full view of other players. That last feature could be tied to Activision's push to get other players interested in Supply Drops (the game's term for Loot Box).

When Call of Duty: WWII first launched, the game was plagued with server issues and ended up creating empty HQs where players would hang out on Normandy Beach all by themselves. This even prevented players from accomplishing in-game tasks like commending other players online. Something that's hard to do if you can't see anyone else online.

Since then, Sledgehammer has been working to bring dedicated servers back online for players, and while there are still some hiccups, at least players finally have the new social feature Sledghammer has been promising for months leading up to COD: WWII's release.
