Iron Harvest gameplay trailer shows clear Company of Heroes and Men of War inspirations
The stunning-looking RTS Iron Harvest has finally showed us a glimpse at its gameplay.
King Art has released a new teaser trailer for the game, featuring a few seconds of pre-alpha gameplay. Right off the bat, the game's aesthetics continue to stand out, and it's married to era-appropriate lighting.
Iron Harvest is based on the World of 1920+, by Jakub Rozalsk. It's set in an alternate timeline where walking machines were constructed during WW1. When the war ended, three factions emerged to fight over control of Europe once again.
Gameplay is very similar to Company of Heroes, and Men at War, two games Iron Harvest is inspired by. The cover and squad mechanics in those games can be clearly seen here, with the dynamic destructible environments enriching the scene.
The mechs are the most impressive, though, as they leap over walls to engage the enemy. The giant machines fighting actually reminds me of Dawn of War, yet another great RTS series that seems to be represented here.
Iron Harvest is currently early in development. King Art plans to release it in 2019 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
