Insurgency: Sandstorm gameplay teaser shows off weapons, vehicles, tense situations

Tactical shooter Insurgency: Sandstorm is coming to consoles and PC this year, and today you can take a look at it via a new teaser trailer.

The new teaser trailer for Insurgency: Sandstorm highlights new features, vehicles, and weapons through gameplay footage.

Announced last year, the enhanced and expanded version of Insurgency: Sandstorm was developed using Unreal Engine 4. It includes extended gameplay, new co-op and versus objective-based game modes, and other features and improvements.

Character customization and ranked matchmaking are included, and weapons feature ballistic calculations which take into account bullet drop and penetration power.

Players can take part in 16v16 skirmishes with artillery barrages, helicopter gunships, re-purposed commercial drones, air strikes, and drive land transport vehicles across various maps. Each map’s size and play areas will be adjusted specifically for each game mode, including co-op against bots.

Insurgency: Sandstorm will release later this year on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The followup to hardcore shooter Insurgency, it originally featured a story mode, but New World Interactive wanted to focus on getting the multiplayer just right. It's possible the team will revisit story mode in the future.
