Insurgency: Sandstorm's Frontline update adds new PvP mode, reimagining of Sinjar map
The Frontline update for Insurgency: Sandstorm is now available.
The Insurgency: Sandstorm update Frontline features a new PvP mode, and Hillside, a reimagining of the classic Insurgency map Sinjar.
In the new PvP mode, Frontline, teams are tasked with capturing all enemy objectives one by one. The team which destroys the final weapon cache objective wins. Each match becomes a large-scale, attack-and-defend battle, with fire support, vehicles, and teams battling for objectives awarding respawns.
The reimagining of the classic Insurgency: Source and Insurgency mod map Sinjar, Hillside, is also included in the update. The snowy map provides high elevation positions for defenders. It comes with two Galil LMG-variant assault rifles, a new 3x scope for the QBZ-03, and winter cosmetics for the Insurgent and Security factions. This content can be used across all modes.
Alongside the new game mode and map are a number of bug fixes and quality of life changes. The Play menu has been overhauled, matchmaking has been streamlined, and limited-time weekly playlists featuring “mutated” game modes have been added. You can look over the patch notes at the link.
Frontline is just one of many free content updates planned for the rest of this year and 2020. You can look forward to modding support, additional co-op and PvP game modes, maps, weapons, cosmetics, and more in the months to come.
