Injustice 2 E3 2016 gameplay shows full matches, stage transitions, super moves, more
Thanks to E3, we finally have the chance to see proper Injustice 2 gameplay footage. The gameplay trailer from the weekend is good and all, but nothing beats full matches with UI and everything.
The video you'll see below (courtesy of IGN) is 15 minutes long, and offers a good look at all available characters (in the demo) including Aquaman, Supergirl, Grodd, Atrocitus, Superman, and Batman. We can also see some of the available stages like Metropolis, Gotham, and Atlantis
The UI is turned on this time, revealing the four-part meter each hero has, which unlocks super moves when fully charged. It seems rolling and breaking combos consumes meter this time, too. Clashes and stage transitions make a return, and they're more spectacular than ever, though it's not clear how the former are being decided.
The biggest thing we're treated to is the new gear unlock system, one of Injustice 2's biggest features. On the character select screen, you can definitely see stats for each hero like attack, block, and defence being represented with numbers.
At the end of matches, both players get gear unlocks. Rarity tiers seem to be a thing here, as some expected.
Some of them are purely cosmetics, while others offer bonuses like an EXP boost or modifications to the core fighting style, such as bonus damage for using stage interactions, extra damage for certain moves and more.
The latter part of the video takes us into the character customisation screen, where you'll get to equip the gear you earned.
Watch the video below and take it all in.
Injustice 2 is out in 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One.
