Inherit the Earth sequel Kickstarter campaign underway

A sequel to the 1994 adventure game Inherit the Earth, from The Wyrmkeep Entertainment Co., is currently seeking funding through its Kickstarter campaign.

According to the Kickstarter page for the game, "This sequel will be in the adventure genre, where exploration, puzzle-solving and story-telling are the major aspects of the game play." Courtesy of Polygon.

The Wyrmkeep Entertainment Co. will produce the sequel, keeping it the same vein as the original with its medieval setting, animal characters and adventure themed puzzle-solving gameplay. It will feature new artwork, music and a new story all incorporated with a modern game engine.

Donations start at $5 and go up to $5,000, with reward tiers including wallpaper, soundtrack downloads, t-shirts, signed copies of the game, thank you listings on the official game page, early access to the demo releases, an invite to the launch party and more.

The campaign closes on February 17 and if it surpasses the first fundraising goal will stretch the game goals to include professional voice actors, more back story, animations and possibly a third game.

If funding goal of $135,000 is met the game is expected to release in November this year on Windows, Linux, Mac and iOS. The Campaign is currently at 136 backers with $7,552 pledged and 21 days to go.
