Infinity Ward sackings were "horrifying", says Insomniac
Resistance developer Insomniac Games has said that the sackings last month of ex-Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West were "horrifying".
Lead designer on the multiplayer of Resistance: Fall of Man, Jake Biegel, said that the experience made him realize "how good" it was to be working at a second-party developer like Insomniac.
"I have some friends at Infinity Ward and I can't tell you how happy I was to be at Insomniac when I heard that news [of West and Zampella's sacking]," Biegel told PSM3.
"I was totally horrified for my friends and called every one of them asking what the hell was going on. It reiterated to me how good it is to be working at a wholly independent developer where we call the shots."
Since the pair were fired, they this week announced the foundation of Respawn Entertainment, with the first game from the studio to be published by EA Partners.
As for Infinity Ward, it's expected to lose up to at least 20 more staff, having lost 12 already - including West and Zampella.
