InFamous: Second Son developer diary discusses DualShock 4 integration
InFamous: Second Son was shown behind closed doors at gamescom yesterday, and to give you an idea of what Sucker Punch discussed with the media, the team has released a short developer dairy.
According to Sucker Punch, it is using DualShock 4 in some "really cool ways to bring players even deeper into Second Son." See for yourself what the team has included below.
VG247 had a chance to see how the controls work at Gamescom. The speaker on the Dual Shock 4 plays phone calls to the game's protagonist, Delson. The live gameplay demo shows Sucker Punch take Delson through a D.U.P. checkpoint that's trying to find anyone with the Conduit gene and eliminate them.
Delson had to put his finger on a scanner to be screened. To do this, you put your own finger on the touchpad. The controller beeped and rumbled while it was scanning. The touchpad is also used to perform stealth take-downs. You can slide up on the pad to raise power nodes and then press R2 to punch and destroy them.
