"I force vassals I don't like to marry old inbred people" and other terrific Crusader Kings 2 reviews
Have sex with your relatives. Catch nasty diseases. Assassinate your own children. There's a good reason why Crusader Kings 2 is widely regarded as one of the most personally engrossing grand strategy games every produced.
If you've never played a grand strategy game, Crusader Kings 2 is a good place to start. Rather than give you an abstract concept like a nation to govern, it makes things personal - you're trying to establish a dynastic line and rule the world. Worrying about whether your children are going to survive the STDs they've contracted, offing competing monarchies and exploiting religious figures is a lot more fun than just staring at a lot of graphs.
But don't take my word for it - read these reviews.
I think my personal favourite is probably this one, though. Take a careful look.
These and plenty more can be found on Steam.
