In Battlefield Hardline, you can hear the receiver extension spring buzzing when you fire
Battlefield Hardline's sound effects are way, way more detailed than you're likely to notice at first.
In the Battlefield Hardline developer diary below, Visceral Games discusses its approach to sound design.
One of the most interesting sections explains how weapon fire sounds are made, layering all sorts of different noises so you hear more than just the shot firing - you hear the whole gun working as a mechanical object.
That's pretty neat, especially when you hear how the sound changes depending on your surroundings. There's also some discussion of vehicle SFX; Visceral borrowed tech from the Need for Speed series.
Battlefield Hardline arrives on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in March.
