If the story called for it, Naughty Dog would have no problem killing an Uncharted character

Naughty Dog's Evan Wells has said that if the script called for it, he'd have no qualms about killing-off a main character in the Uncharted series.

Speaking with CVG, Wells said if it were done, though, it wouldn't be just for "dramatic shock value."

"We're not dogmatic about anything," he said. "If that is what it takes [to advance the storyline] then that's what it takes. And not just for dramatic shock value - it would definitely have to tie into the narrative that [we're] trying to tell and expose an aspect of Drake's character that we would want to delve into."

Wells never said whether an offing of a main character was being planned or not, but he did say that the focus this time around would be mainly on Drake, with the rest taking a backseat.

"We are trying to keep things fresh and draw certain aspects of Nate's personality out as well as the characters he's surrounded with," he said. "Chloe and Elena are back but they aren't the emphasis of the story the way they were in Uncharted 2. This time round the emphasis is on Victor Sullivan and his mentor/protégé relationship with Drake."

Uncharted 3 is slated for release on November 1.
