iD exec jumps ship for GameStop
iD Software's Steve Nix has left the company in search of greener pastures at US retail giant GameStop.
Although GameStop is yet to produce a shooter to rival Doom, it's not as extreme a change as it seems. Gamasutra reports Nix was iD's general manager of digital distribution - obviously, a form of retail.
According to an official statement from the company, the executive's new role is to "lead the strategic development and execution of GameStop's digital download business, working in collaboration with ecommerce, internal marketing, merchandising and operational teams to optimize GameStop’s digital download shopping experience".
Nix also confirmed the move on his Facebook and LinkedIn profiles.
Thanks, Joystiq.
