Now watch Xbox boss Phil Spencer do the Ice Bucket Challenge

Xbox boss Phil Spencer is a good sport.

In the video above you'll see Xbox's Larry Hyrb (Major Nelson) and Jeff Rubenstein give Spencer his icy cold wetting.

Spencer was challenged to this bracing endurance test by Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson, along with Activision CEO Bobby Kotick and Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski. Spencer is the only one of the three to have completed the challenge so far.

The Xbox boss in turn nominated Valve founder Gabe Newell, PlayStation worldwide studios president Shuhei Yoshida and Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime as his victims. Good! More famous people suffering and handing over money to a good cause - in this case, the ALS Association, which raises funds in search of a cure for the progressive neurodegenerative disease known as Lou Gehrig's.

The idea of the Ice Bucket Challenge is to avoid making a charitable donation by pouring a bucket of ice water over yourself, and then tagging others to do the same. Like Spencer, most people give to the cause but pay the forfeit anyway, because even if you're able and happy to donate it's pretty fun and a terrific way to spread awareness (during summer).

It's really working, too. The Ice Bucket Challenge has raised over $15 million for ALS support and research in less than one month. It's one of the biggest deals on the Internet right now.

Thanks, Gamespot.
