Hunt: Showdown video explains exactly what you do in the game

Hunt: Showdown was one of our most anticipated games of 2018, and though it always looked very promising, the concept of what goes on in a round was never fully clear.

Hunt: Showdown is a horror shooter where you, alone or with a teammate, track down and hunt a monster. The goal is to kill the monster and escape with the loot you earn and live to fight another day.

But there's a battle royale twist to Showdown, in that other players also have the same objective, and you'll be fighting against them in your battle for survival. But the specifics, though touched upon in previous gameplay footage, needed to be better explained.

Which is what this new video aims to do. In it, Crytek explains exactly how rounds in Hunt: Showdown are supposed to play, starting off at the top with picking a character, all the way down to extracting with all the loot.

The video also works as a tutorial for anyone new to the game, highlighting how the economy works, and why some consumables need to be purchased before embarking on a mission.

The Hunt: Showdown closed alpha kicked off less than a week ago, which is why you're seeing many fresh videos. A Steam Early Access launch is planned for sometime this winter.
