HTC Vive price dropped to $600

The HTC Vive VR bundle has received a price cut.

The $200 drop was announced earlier today, bringing the price down to $600. The bundle includes the headset, Vive Lighthouse trackers, as well as the two controllers.

Unlike the Oculus Rift price cut, this one is permanent. By comparison, when the Rift ends its summer promotion of $400, it'll go back to $500.

In addition to the hardware, every Vive purchase comes with a free trial for Viveport, a subscription service that lets you play up to five titles per month. You'll also get free copies of Google’s Tilt Brush, EverestVR, and Richie’s Plank Experience.

It's worth noting that this does not include the recently launched Deluxe Audio Strap, which attaches small speakers to the headset similar to the ones available in the Rift. You'll need to either use your existing headphones or buy the strap separately.

Though the Rift can replicate the Vive's room-scale experience with three/four sensors, the Vive remains the most ready out of the box. The Lighthouse sensors track your entire body, which makes for a very immersive experience.
