HMV and UK eSports date Game On! London
HMV today announced that the gaming expo and eSports event Game On! London will be held at the Olympia Exhibition Centre June 20-21.
It's expected to draw more than 25,000 attendees.
“Game On! London represents a superb opportunity to create a memorable landmark event that will enable us to get even closer to the game-playing customers that we value so much,” said HMV games chap, Tim Ellis.

'Game On! London' unveiled by HMV and backed by official UK eSports body

HMV, the UK & Ireland’s leading music, film and games specialist, today announced a new major consumer-facing gaming expo and eSports event which starts this summer in one of London’s best exhibition halls.
Headlined by HMV and organised by UKeSA, the official governing body for competitive gaming in the UK, the event, billed ‘Game On! London’, will be staged at London’s famous Olympia Exhibition Centre between 20th – 21st June, 2009, and is expected to draw more than 25,000 games enthusiasts from all over the country.
Game On! London will showcase the very latest games for all the major platforms and the most cutting-edge gaming technology. The expo-event will also play host to the Dell XPS Premiership Season One finals, which will see the UK’s top eSports teams clash in what has become the most hotly contested gaming league ever.
HMV, which has expanded significantly into Games in recent years, and is increasingly looking to engage directly with game-playing customers, including through its gamerbase.com online gaming brand, is endorsing UkeSA’s programme aimed at developing and growing professional and grass-roots competitive gaming in the UK.
