Hitman 2 - how to get a Silent Assassin rank in Hawke’s Bay
Looking to get a Silent Assassin rating on Hawke’s Bay, the first mission in Hitman 2? Take our hand, pack a fish, and let’s go hunting.
First off, make your way up the beach and towards the house. Be careful when you get close - the perimeter is guarded by security cameras. You’ll want to go around the building and carefully shoot them out. It makes life much easier.
Infiltrating
Once you’ve done that, head into the pool area on the side of the house and through the open glass door there. Pick up the screwdriver inside, then head back outside and use it on the garage door to find a way in. If you’re replaying this level, you can always sidestep this step and use a lockpick to get in via any of the external doors.
Next, head upstairs and try to access the laptop. It won’t work the first time because you need a dongle, which is hiding behind a painting on the other side of the room. Feel free to help yourself to the range of weapons on the wall in here as well, then go back and use the dongle.
Before you access the computer again, head around the top floor and use the interfaces to close the window blinds - this will make later sections easier. Once you access the computer, a bunch of guards turn up and the first thing they do is sweep the house. Head to the bedroom and find a good hiding spot, preferably in a cupboard or somewhere where you are fully hidden.
Assassinating
Once they’ve completed the sweep, head onto the landing and listen to the conversation your target is having on the phone. When she mentions turning herself in, her and her partner will head up to bed.
The easiest way to get a Silent Assassin rating here is to hide in the chest near the bed, wait for them to go to sleep, then smother her with her pillow.
Extracting
Once you’re done there, go out the back side of the house and find a place to jump down without being seen.
Go from long grass to long grass back to your boat, slipping between patrols. When you get near an enemy vehicle, you need to shoot the petrol can in the boot to cause a distraction. As soon as you fire, crouch-run to the grass nearest to your boat and wait for the guards to run past. Head into your boat and be on your way.
