Hitman 2 accidentally outed by reveal site

Hitman developer IO Interactive is hosting a live reveal for what fans thought would be a new season of content for the game.

The developer has been teasing this Hitman reveal for a while, culminating with a tweet yesterday asking players to tune in to a Warner Bros. livestream on June 7.

Shortly after the site went live, the logo for Hitman 2 was accessible before Warner wised up and removed it. The stream is still running footage of what looks to be a race garage, with the logo for Hamsun - a fictional company in the game's universe, appearing briefly.

Here's the logo (via ResetERA), which confirms the game will in fact be called Hitman 2. It's not clear if this means we should expect a completely different game from the original, or if that's simply what IO is going with for the title of its second season.

Warner Bros. has of course recently announced that it'll be publishing Hitman games in the future. The publisher also had its name on the game's Definitive Edition, which came out in May.

We'll find out for certain on June 7.
