High Voltage CG Animator leaves firm for film studio

High Voltage Software's CG Animator, Tony Mecca, has left the firm to work with Rhythm and Hues, and studio which was the CG animation firm for The Golden Compass and other projects.

According to an official post on the High Voltage forums, Mecca stated he would be "leaving HVS for awhile to go work in film," and that he hopes "to return in the future," after he works on some movies.

"Conduit 2 is just around the corner and I cant wait till you all play it," wrote Mecca. "Blood sweat and tears went into this one and I am so honored to be a major part of such an amazing game.

"You have all been amazing fans and I will still stop by from time to time to see what you all are talking about once the game comes out. It was a pleasure getting feedback from all of you these past few years (although the damn taco launcher never made it into the game), and your personal support made it easy for me to get up to work every morning."

Other films on Rhythm and Hues' resume includes: The Wolfman, The A-Team, Knight and Day, Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakuel, and Red Riding Hood which is slated for release in theaters next month.

Thanks, GoNintendo.
