Here's when you'll be getting your Gears of War 4 beta key

Update: The Coalition has revealed that the plan of sending out keys in chronological order will not materialise. Citing an issue with code distribution, the developer said that codes will go out randomly to everyone who played the Ultimate Edition.

It's still going to be wave-based, but each wave will now include a higher volume of codes. Everyone should still have their codes by Thursday, as previously noteed.

Original story: With the Gears of War 4 beta on the horizon, developer The Coalition has outlined rollout plan for beta keys, for players guaranteed to get keys.

Beta keys will be sent out to those who played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in chronological order. The sooner you played it after launch, the earlier your key will arrive.

Keys start going out Monday, April 18 and will continue to be sent out in waves of increasing sizes throughout the week via Xbox Live messages. Thursday, April 21 is when everyone should have their codes.

The Coalition also promised rewards for just playing the beta, with more to be revealed later.

If you're looking to get into the beta even earlier, there's a chance you could start playing today. You can only do so by getting a special code, which will be given out in a livestream today at 3pm Pacific on the official Twitch channel.
