Here's the new Metro Exodus trailer because we've all been such good little individuals this year

Metro Exodus is the third entry in one of the coolest shooter series around, so we were pretty excited for this new look at it.

Metro Exodus looks absolutely beautiful in this first trailer, which comes to us via The Game Awards 2017.

It's one of the few reveals we definitely knew was coming ahead of time, but it didn't lose its impact for all that. It doesn't seem like 4A Games has lost any of its magic after moving from the Ukraine to Malta. Just take a look at this trailer:

Metro Exodus is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One in northern autumn 2018. That's September, October or November, for those of you getting ready to slam into the comments with calendar questions.

Metro Exodus was announced at E3 2017 but we'd known it was coming for over a year.

It follows on from Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, and has a more open-world, S.T.A.L.K.E.R-like pitch than the linear narrative-driven prequels. Given how much story is wound through that trailer, it doesn't look like that side of things is going to suffer too much for the change, and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. DNA is so clear in Metro that we're excited to see the team push it a bit further into the spotlight.
