Here's everything you need to know about the Call of Duty League 2021
This year's tournament begins with returning team Los Angeles Thieves playing Minnesota Røkkr.
Activision's Call of Duty League 2021 kicks off tomorrow.
The Opening Weekend is taking place between February 11 and 14, and kicks off with Minnesota Røkkr playing returning team Los Angeles Thieves at 8PM GMT. This year, the Call of Duty League will be using – unsurprisingly – maps from the recently-released Black Ops Cold War, with Activision promising more matches using Search & Destroy and Hardpoint modes.
The Call of Duty League 2021 players will be using PCs rather than console, while matches are returning to a 4v4 format rather than 2020's 5v5.
This time around there are 12 teams competing for glory from four different countries, though nine of these - Seattle Surge, New York Subliners, Minnesota Røkkr, Los Angeles Guerrillas, Los Angeles Thieves, Florida Mutineers, Atlanta FaZe, OpTic Chicago and Dallas Empire – are from the USA. Canada is represented with the Toronto Ultra team, while Paris Legion and London Royal Ravens are playing for France and the UK respectively.
All 12 teams will be playing each week during the five stages of the Call of Duty League 2021.
You can watch all matches on at YouTube.com/CODLeague. That follows Activision Blizzard signing a deal to exclusively air its esports content on YouTube at the start of 2020.
