Here's another Kickstarter from former BioShock developers

BioShock, Rock Band and Guitar Hero veterans have banded together to create The Flame in the Flood, a new survival title with an interesting thematic twist.

The Flame in the Flood is a survival title in which players travel via a procedurally-generated river. The idea is to explore the backwaters of the US - the fringe areas - in a vaguely-defined post-civilisation period.

Environments are inspired by the Everglades, Mississippi Delta, Louisiana Bayou "and other quintessentially American places", and the game's soundtrack is being supplied by alt-rocker Chuck Ragan.

Players will need to gather materials and craft new items to survive, while fending off various illnesses and ailments and coping with an AI-powered ecology that reacts to their actions. Described as a rogue-like, The Flame in the Flood utilises a permadeath mechanic, meaning every playthrough is final. The main character, Scout, is accompanied by her dog, Aesop, and travels by means of a customisable raft.

The team behind the game, The Molasses Flood, is the latest indie to spring up in the wake of Irrational Games' dissolution. As well as former developers of BioShock and BioShock Infinite, the crew boasts Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Halo and Titan Quest veterans, among others.

Take a look at the Kickstarter, which is asking for $150,000. The pitch video is below.

Former Irrational staffers seem to be thriving after slipping Ken Levine's leash. Yesterday we checked out the Kickstarter for The Black Glove, and you may remember a little thing called Gone Home.
