Ever the proud nerd, Henry Cavill says Warhammer role is the "greatest privilege" of his career

We're still yet to see anything of the upcoming cinematic universe, though.

Henry Cavill might have plenty of big roles under his belt, but he's recently said that his role in the Warhammer 40K cinematic universe is the "greatest privilege" of his career.

It's no secret that Cavill is a bit of a nerd. He loves his PC gaming, he loved being in Netflix's Witcher series, but unsurprisingly, one of the things he's most excited about currently is the live action Warhammer 40K "cinematic universe" he's helping to develop. Cavill was announced to be joining the Warhammer project back in 2022, after a turbulent time of being announced to return as Superman, then being given the boot pretty shortly after. It's ok though, as in a recent interview with Josh Horowitz while promoting the film he's currently in, Argylle, he's spoken about his excitement for the project (thanks, PCGamer).

"It is the greatest privilege of my professional career to have this opportunity," Cavill said. "I can't say too much, again it's early days still, but to have this opportunity to bring it to the screen and be at the tiller so it can be faithful, is key to me. This is the stuff I've been dealing with since I was a kid. This is the stuff I spend my free time daydreaming about, as an adult as well. And I get to bring it into life. And there is no greater reason that I joined the industry than doing something like this, and I'm very happy to be here."

If you didn't know, Cavill is, quite plainly, a proud Warhammer nerd, so it's no surprise he's so enthusiastic about developing its live action world. He likes to take pictures of painting minifigs, and will even talk about it in interviews that are for completely different projects.

Not much is known about the live action Warhammer project just yet, but it's being made as a collaboration between Games Workshop and Amazon Studios - don't expect a release date for anything anytime soon either, as it is still early days.
