Earlier today, Hearthstone: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan players were frustrated by a nasty bug affecting the drop rate for tri-class cards.

Normally RNG bugs like this mean you don't get a specific type of card, but in this case, players who opened Hearthstone: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan packs were getting stacks of them - sometimes five of the same card, for example.

Blizzard investigated the issue and has already rolled out a hotfix on its Americas server, and will apply it to other regions before Hearthstone: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan launches globally.

Unopened packs are not affected by the bug, so don't worry about any Hearthstone: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan packs you've been holding onto.

The extra good news is that if you were affected by the bug you'll get some compensation in the form of free bonus Hearthstone: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan card packs.

"Any player on the Americas server who opened Mean Streets of Gadgetzan packs before 2:30pm PST will receive additional Mean Streets of Gadgetzan packs as compensation," Blizzard wrote on the Hearthstone forums.

"The affected players will receive 33% of the total amount of Gadgetzan packs opened before 2:30PM PST, rounded up, to a minimum of one, regardless if the player acquired packs through gold, Quests, or real money."

It's not a 1:1 compensation but you get to keep all the duplicates you got in the affected packs, too. Blizzard said it will let Hearthstone: Mean Streets of Gadgetzan players know when the compensation bonus packs roll out.
