Harry Potter: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film to be made, game to follow
A new Harry Potter spin off is in the works at Warner, thanks to a film being made of J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The film will take place around 70 odd years before Harry came along, and will be based around the author or the fictional work, Newt Scamander.
The work will also be getting an expanded treatment through various mediums including games, according to Deadline.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world," Rowling announced in the press release "The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry's gets underway."
Digital initiatives including Pottermore, will span video games, consumer products and visitor attractions at theme parks.
A date for the film or the spin-off game have yet to be announced.
Thanks, Shack.
