Halo Master Chief Collection on PC will be "ready when it's ready", but you can sign up to play early
343 Industries has confirmed that Halo Insider is coming to PC.
Halo Insider is a testing program 343 debuted when it decided to go back and fix all remaining Halo: The Master Chief Collection issues last year on Xbox One.
The same program is coming to PC, and it's how players will be able to play the PC ports announced last week early, starting with Halo Reach. This time, Halo Insider also includes Steam, since all games will be available on Valve's platform at launch.
At the Halo Invitational finals at SXSW over the weekend, community manager Brian "Ske7ch" Jarrard revealed that the first test will be starting "sooner than people realise." As for a projected release date for Reach, which many were hoping we'd get at SXSW, Jarrard said it'll be "ready when it's ready."
As previously revealed, Reach will be the first game to see release on PC, followed by the rest of the Master Chief Collection at a staggered release.
Just like it was on Xbox One, accepted PC players can expect regular builds to test out various changes. This is essentially a more involved way of beta testing the PC version, starting with Reach.
To sign up yourself, head to the official Halo Insider page. From there, you'll be able to link your Steam account to Halo Waypoint, and provide some details about your PC specs.
