First Halo: Infinite multiplayer technical test could happen "as soon as next weekend"
The first Halo Infinite multiplayer technical flight is coming soon, and 343 Industries has outlined what to expect.
In the latest Inside Infinite update, 343 went over what players of the Halo: Infinite technical flight will be testing.
According to the developers, the technical preview will focus on testing the Halo Waypoint companion for mobile and web, and you will also be testing the menu navigation for the Battle Pass UI, challenges, and customization.
Insiders will also test multiplayer bots in the Bot Arena playlist, which puts 4 players against 4 Bots on Arena maps. For this technical preview, the Bot Arena experience will feature Slayer across three maps: Bazar, Recharge, and Live Fire. Bots come in four flavors: Recruit, Marine, ODST, and Spartan, with each level representing an increase in Bot skill.
The team is planning a daily content offering with Bots that will evolve over the course of the flight based on the overall engagement of participants. Things will start off slow to help everyone get acclimated, but as time progresses, the Bots will provide a greater challenge with more variety. Because the Bots currently have a few "quirks," 343 wanted to include them in the flight for additional testing.
This flight could be made available to Halo Insiders on PC and Xbox as soon as next weekend, and it will be open to "hundreds of thousands" Insiders. Should all go well, the studio will invite more eligible Insiders for the next flight.
Prior to the start of the flight, 343 will host a live stream where it will dive into the build and provide a walk-through of nearly every facet of the technical preview.
An exact date for the test has not been provided, but it could happen "as soon as next weekend."
