Halo 5 World Championship prize pool now stands at $1.5M
Halo 5 now offers a worthwhile purse for competitive types.
The Halo 5: Guardians World Championship prize pool has hit $1.5 million.
This weighty pool was partially funded by player purchases of REQ packs for Halo 5's Warzone mode, to the tune of $500,000. It will continue to grow as we count down to the Championship kick off on in December.
The Championship series will run through March, and feature eight teams from North America, two from Australia and New Zealand, one from latin American, one from Asia and four from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Including hardware bundles, Halo 5 has already generated $400 million in global sales. It'd be interesting to know how much cash the REQ packs are bringing in; the system has not gone uncriticised.
