Halo 5 dev working on adding social and unranked playlists
The lack of social and unranked playlists in Halo 5 multiplayer has left some long-time fans unhappy.
Halo 5's multiplayer has received different sorts of tweaks since launch. Most recently, Big Team Battle was added to the list of available modes.
One issue that irks a lot of Halo fans, however, is the lack of social playlists. Currently, all of Halo 5's Arena playlists are ranked, meaning every thing you do contributes to your CSR profile and overall rank.
As with most Halo games, sometimes you just want to play these modes for fun without having to worry about keep a good record. At this point, Halo 5 can't provide that, but developer 343 Industries has heard the community's pleas.
"There was no insidious motivation behind going all ranked for Arena," a studio representative told TeamBeyond forum members.
"That said, we've heard the requests and we are actively working towards supporting unranked playlists for Arena in a future update. It may seem straightforward on the surface but lighting up unranked play in Arena is not as simple as flipping a switch."
The rep did not reveal a time frame or any other details about what to expect.
