Halo 5 appears in Xbox One sizzle trailer, is "placeholder" says 343
Halo 5 is very briefly listed in text form in a new Microsoft trailer showing off the Xbox One's design. But alas! It's a placeholder.
Update: In a post on Halo Waypoint, Halo developer 343 Industries has confirmed that the text is just a placeholder.
"The Xbox One dashboard images shown in the recently released Xbox One Design Show video, were placeholder and not indicative of future game content. As previously stated, your next ‘Halo’ journey will begin in 2014, and we’ll have more detail to share at E3 in June," a representative wrote.
So Halo 5, officially, is still unconfirmed. Hem hem. Thanks, MP1st.
Original story:
As spotted by Kotaku, a (fictional) player is shown in-game in Halo 5 in the trailer below, which is otherwise just a bit of slobbering over the console's UI and design.
We know Microsoft is going to show something new related to Halo soon, including at E3 2014, and we assume it's the Xbox One Halo title it announced at last year's E3.
Whether that product will be called Halo 5 remains to be seen, but why else would this logo be doing the rounds? A leak described the Xbox One title as the "next chapter", which certainly sounds like something you'd call Halo 5.
